THE PRODIGY

The Prodigy is a British band that popularized breakbeats in electronic dance music in the early 1990s. In the initial phase, the band was oriented towards the acid house and techno of the early 1990s and later developed their own style, which incorporated new styles such as hardcore and jungle. From around 1996, The Prodigy influenced current sounds such as big beat and trip-hop, incorporating elements of alternative rock and punk rock.

They named the band after the synthesizer Moog Prodigy.
