Ennio Frankl was born in Munich in 1999. His parents chose his first name in reference to the composer Ennio Morricone. In 2016, he began releasing electronic English-language indie music under the artist name Emotional Club. His best-known song under this name is Crystal. The role models for his musical style include Tom Misch and FKJ. Since 2021, he has been releasing German-language and partly more acoustic tracks under the name Ennio. On the same day as the release of his first single as Ennio called Blaulicht, he played the first concert as the support act for a tour by Provinz. He also accompanied Jeremias and Majan on tour. After playing at several festivals in summer 2022, including Waves Vienna and Reeperbahn Festival, Splash, he embarked on his first tour himself in December 2022 in eleven cities in Germany and Austria. The venues he played include the Felsenkeller in Leipzig, Skaters Palace in Münster and the E-Werk in Erlangen. He also performed at Late Night Berlin in November 2022.
