Crimer

SAT 29.08.20
MAIN STAGE

Many will be surprised to learn that Crimer’s journey of musical self-discovery started in a church band. At the time, the Backstreet Boys were at the pinnacle of their success so it is no surprise that the budding artist sang one of their songs as his audition piece. With a prepubescent performance of ‘I Want It That Way’, the young Alexander sang his way to a place in the band that provided the musical accompaniment at church on Sundays. After several years of singing Ave Marias, Alexander yearned for his own rock band. What followed was a journey of discovery that took him from the obligatory cover band to the classical indie group.

Still searching for the sound that would set him apart from the crowd, Alexander used computer programmes to play around with beats. Before he knew it, he had fallen hook, line, and sinker for the sound of the digital synthesiser. Crimer was born. Even though he was still just an amateur musician, Crimer knew that he had just entered a world of endless opportunities.

With his hymn-like single «Brotherlove», Crimer proved that his days of dancing alone are over. The song swiftly spread throughout the country, making him one of the most exciting newcomers in Switzerland. His songs are drenched in New Wave, sometimes drifting into Italo-Disco. These are retro sounds with a touch of modernity, accompanied by Crimer’s unmistakable vocals and moreish guitar refrains. In order to be able to transfer this incredible energy from the studio to the stage, this young dancer has brought two other musicians on board. Audiences can look forward to performances that are even more energetic and erotic!
